Catechesis of the Good Shepherd / Catequesis del Buen Pastor

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a method of catechesis based upon the belief that in order to best serve the religious needs and capacities of children, especially the youngest children, there needs to be a prepared environment called the atrium. The environment and the materials are instruments to serving children’s religious life. CGS uses the Maria Montessori method of learning through manipulating materials, a hands on approach. The children will be introduced to scripture and liturgy through the materials and activities presented. We will be providing CGS on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm. The children will meet just once a week. For the first two weeks of CGS we will meet for 45 minutes, the third week for one hour, and then the fourth week for 2 hours. This will gradually acquaint the children to the rhythm of the atrium and how one acts on Holy Ground. Your may register with the Faith Formation office. The cost is $75. La Catequesis del Buen Pastor es un método de catequesis basado en la creencia de que, para atender mejor las necesidades y capacidades religiosas de los niños, especialmente de los más pequeños, es necesario contar con un entorno preparado llamado atrio. El ambiente y los materiales son instrumentos para servir la vida religiosa de los niños. CGS utiliza el método de aprendizaje de María Montessori a través de la manipulación de materiales, un enfoque práctico. Los niños serán introducidos a las escrituras y la liturgia a través de los materiales y actividades presentados. Proporcionaremos CGS los martes y jueves por la mañana de 10 am a 12 pm. Los niños se reunirán solo una vez a la semana. Durante las primeras dos semanas de CGS nos reuniremos durante 45 minutos, la tercera semana durante una hora y la cuarta semana durante 2 horas.
