An examination of conscience is the act of looking prayerfully into our hearts to ask     how we have hurt our relationships with God and other people through our thoughts, word and actions. / Un examen de conciencia es el acto de mirar en oración a nuestro corazón y preguntarnos cómo hemos dañado o maltratado nuestras relaciones con Dios y con otras personas a través de nuestros pensamientos, palabras y acciones.

What steps am I taking to help me grow closer to God and to others? Do I turn to God often during the day, especially when I am tempted? /¿Qué pasos debo seguir para crecer y estar más cerca de Dios y de las otras personas? ¿Me dirijo a Dios con   frecuencia durante el día y en especial cuando tengo alguna tentación?

Do I participate at Mass with attention and devotion on Sundays (or at the Saturday vigil) and holy days? Do I pray often and read the Bible? /¿Participo con atención y devoción en la Misa de los domingos (o en la vigilia de los sábados) y en los días de festividades religiosas? ¿Rezo con frecuencia y leo la Biblia?

Do I use God’s name and the names of Jesus, Mary, and the saints with love and reverence? / ¿Utilizo el nombre de Dios y los nombres de Jesús, María y todos los Santos con amor y reverencia?

Have I set a bad example through my words or actions?, Do I treat others fairly?, Do I spread stories that hurt other people?/¿He dado un mal ejemplo a través de mis   palabras o acciones?, ¿Trato a los demás con justicia?, ¿He hablado cosas que puedan lastimar a otras personas?

Am I loving of those in my family? Am I respectful of my neighbors, my friends, and those in authority? /¿Amo a mi familia? ¿Soy respetuoso con mis vecinos, amigos y con las autoridades?

Do I show respect for my body and the bodies of others? Do I keep away from   forms of entertainment that do not respect God’s gift of sexuality? /¿Respeto mi      cuerpo y los cuerpos de los demás? ¿Estoy alejado de cualquier forma de entretenimiento que no respete el regalo divino de la sexualidad?

Have I taken or damaged anything that did not belong to me? Have I cheated, or lied? /¿He tomado o dañado algo que no me pertenecía? ¿He dicho mentiras o he engañado a alguien?

Do I quarrel with others just so I can get my own way?, Do I insult others to try to make them think they are less than I am?, Do I hold grudges and try to hurt people who I think have hurt me? /¿Me peleo con los demás para yo poder tener libre mi camino? He insultado a otros o los hecho sentir menos que yo?¿Me he guardado rencores y he tratado de lastimar a las personas que considero me han hecho daño?
